Around 70% of diseases that affect humans come from animals. Pune is getting new advanced labs to help find and fight these diseases. These labs, funded by the central government, will use the latest technology to improve how we diagnose animal diseases in western India.
The new labs will be located at the Bharatratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Western Region Disease Diagnosis Laboratory. They’ll have a large space of 51,000 square feet just for testing. These labs will be very safe and will have special machines like RT-PCR and gene sequencers. These tools will help doctors and scientists find animal diseases quickly and accurately.
These labs will be important for many states, including Maharashtra, Goa, Diu-Daman, Dadra-Nagar-Haveli, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh. By having these labs nearby, it will be easier and faster to test animal samples instead of sending them far away to national labs.
The opening of these labs is a big step in finding and stopping diseases that can jump from animals to humans. With better testing available close to where people live and work, doctors and vets can act quickly to help prevent outbreaks.
The labs will help find different animal diseases early so that people can stay healthy. This will support health programs and help keep everyone safe, especially in places where testing has been hard to get.
