Two men claimed they were robbed at Shri Jewellers in Dhayari, Pune, saying thieves took 22 tolas of gold. But the police found out it was all fake! The store owner and his cousin made up this story because they didn’t want to pay back money they’d borrowed.
The store owner owed around ₹20-25 lakh to different people. Instead of paying back the money honestly, they thought of this trick to fool everyone. They planned everything carefully to make it look like a real robbery had happened.
The thieves supposedly came on a motorcycle and took all the gold. They left the bike near Pu. La. Deshpande Garden. But when the police started looking into the case, they found many things that didn’t make sense in the store owner’s story.
The Crime Branch police worked very hard to solve this case. They checked everything carefully and found proof that the robbery was fake. The store owner and his cousin had made up the whole story just to escape from paying their loans.
The police arrested both the store owner and his cousin. Now they’re in bigger trouble than before because lying about a robbery is a serious crime. They’ll have to face punishment for trying to cheat people who gave them money.
This case has taught everyone an important lesson – trying to run away from debt by doing wrong things only makes things worse. Now the police are being extra careful when checking robbery cases, especially when shop owners who owe money say they’ve been robbed.
This incident adds to the growing list of Pune crime cases that involve financial fraud rather than violent offenses.
