A scary incident happened in Pune city on Tuesday evening when a man and his wife were beaten up because of honking their car horn. The fight took place at 7:45 PM near Karve Road in the Kothrud area.
It all started when Rajesh Sharma, who works in a computer company, honked his horn at a car that was blocking the road. The owner of that car, Prakash Mane, got very angry and came out with two of his friends.
Without talking properly, Mane and his friends started beating Rajesh badly, breaking his arm. When Rajesh’s wife Priya tried to save him, they hit her too. The fight went on for eight minutes until some shopkeepers and people walking by came to help them.
The police came at 8:03 PM after people called them for help. The Kothrud Police have filed a case, and they’ve caught two people who did this, but one person is still running away. The whole fight was recorded on CCTV cameras nearby.
Rajesh and Priya are now in City Hospital. The doctors say they’ll take about six weeks to get better. The police are taking this case very seriously because such fighting on roads has become common in Pune city.
The police have now decided to put more police officers on the roads and install new cameras at big crossroads to stop such fights. They’ve also made a special team to catch people who fight on roads, as these incidents have gone up by 31% from last year.
This case adds to the growing list of Pune crime news that authorities are working to address through increased surveillance and enforcement measures.
