The Maharashtra government is helping 182 people return home from Srinagar to Pune after an attack by bad people near Pahalgam in Kashmir. The government has arranged a special plane to bring these people back safely within the next day.
At Srinagar airport, the government has made special safety plans to protect the passengers. Special police teams will check everyone properly, and there will be a separate path for these travelers to move safely. Both Maharashtra and Kashmir governments are working together to help these people reach the airport without any problems.
Among the stuck passengers, about 116 are tourists who were visiting Kashmir, while 66 are students and people who went there for work. These people will travel to the airport in 12 special buses with police protection. The CRPF (special police force) will guard them during their 89-kilometer journey from Pahalgam to Srinagar airport.
The big plane, called Airbus A320, will leave Srinagar early morning at 6:00 and reach Pune around 9:20. The Maharashtra government is spending Rs. 1.2 crore to bring these people back, and the passengers don’t have to pay anything for travel or staying arrangements.
The government has also started a special phone number where families can call anytime to know about their relatives. So far, 312 worried family members have called to ask about their loved ones. There will be doctors at both airports to help if anyone needs medical care, and 15 ambulances will be ready in Pune to take sick people to hospitals if needed.
When passengers reach Pune, doctors will check if everyone is healthy. Then, government vehicles will take them to their homes. For 73 people who live far from Pune, the government has arranged rooms in hotels. They can rest there before traveling to their homes in other parts of Maharashtra. The government has also said they’ll arrange more planes if more people need to come back from Kashmir.
This evacuation effort is part of Pune crime prevention measures to ensure the safety of Maharashtra residents traveling in sensitive regions.
