Pune Police have arrested Jyotiba Kare for killing his wife Priyanka Chitalkar-Kare. The police found her dead body in a bag at the bottom of a deep valley in Nashik district. The search went on for about 300 kilometers before they found her remains.
Senior Police Inspector Suryakant Kokane and SP Pankaj Deshmukh led the case. They found out that Jyotiba used to fight with his wife because he wrongly thought she wasn’t faithful to him. He was worried about what people would say about his family name, which made him very angry.
At first, Jyotiba tried to fool the police by giving wrong information. But after a long search, they found Priyanka’s body very far from their house. The police also caught Jyotiba’s friend Dattatray Golande, who helped him hide the crime by getting rid of the body.
The police said that the husband and wife used to fight a lot. Jyotiba would blame Priyanka for things she didn’t do. When the police caught him, he told them that he killed his wife because he thought she was bringing shame to his family.
The police teams had to work very hard to find the body because it was hidden in a very difficult place. They found the remains in a bag at the bottom of a valley that was about 150 feet deep. Many police teams from different areas worked together to solve this case.
The arrest of Jyotiba and his friend Dattatray is a big step in solving this murder case. This sad incident shows how some people still kill their family members thinking about their honor. The Pune Rural Police are still collecting more proof to make a strong case against both the accused persons in court.
