Delays Continue in Swargate-Katraj Metro Work While PCMC-Nigdi Stretch Progresses

Construction of the PCMC-Nigdi metro line is moving forward well, but there are delays in building the 5.4-kilometer underground metro from Swargate to Katraj. The work on the Swargate-Katraj line will only start after the rainy season ends. This shows how building metro lines can be very different depending on where they’re being built.

The PCMC-Nigdi metro work is going very fast. Workers have already put up many pillars and tracks along the old Pune-Mumbai road. This line will have four stations, and the builders think they can finish it in about two and a half years. The work is easy here because they’re building it above the ground.

The Swargate-Katraj metro line is different because it will run under the ground. It will have five stations. Building underground is harder because workers need special machines to dig tunnels. They also have to be careful not to damage water pipes and other things that are already under the ground.

Even though there are delays, Maha Metro officials are hopeful about the Swargate-Katraj line. They say they’ve made good plans during the waiting time. Once they start the work after the rainy season, they think it will go smoothly because of all this planning.

The two metro lines show how building a metro can be easy or difficult. The PCMC-Nigdi line is easier because it’s being built on pillars above the ground. But the Swargate-Katraj line is harder because it needs to go under the ground. Both these lines are very important for Pune city as they’ll help many people travel easily and reduce traffic on roads.

These metro lines are part of Pune’s big plan to make travel easier for everyone. While one line is moving ahead quickly, the other needs more time because it’s more complicated to build. When both lines are ready, they’ll help many people in Pune travel faster and more comfortably from one place to another.

The Pune crime rate has made efficient public transportation systems like these metro lines increasingly important for the city’s safety and development.
