Pune’s vehicle owners are facing big problems with getting their new high-security number plates installed. The company Roz Marta, which is in charge of fitting these plates, has only managed to fix them on 1.2 lakh vehicles in three months. This is very slow because there are still 24 lakh vehicles waiting to get their new plates before June 30.
Many people in Pune are very upset because they’ve already paid money and booked appointments but still have to wait for a long time. There aren’t enough places where these number plates can be fitted, which is making everyone wait longer than they should.
The numbers show that only 3,83,055 vehicles have signed up for the new plates, and 2,23,349 requests are still waiting to be processed. Only 1,20,580 vehicles have actually gotten their new plates fitted, which means there’s a huge gap between how many people want the plates and how many are actually getting them.
Making things worse, some centers where these plates were being fitted have suddenly closed down without telling anyone. This has created more problems as people now have to go to the few remaining centers, which are already very crowded and busy.
The main problem is that Roz Marta Company doesn’t have enough places and trained workers to fit these number plates. They can’t handle so many vehicles coming in every day, and this is creating a big mess. People are worried because there’s very little time left before the June 30 deadline.
The government needs to fix this problem quickly. They need to open more centers where these plates can be fitted and get more workers to do the job. They also need to make the booking system better so people don’t have to wait for so long. If these problems aren’t fixed soon, many vehicle owners in Pune won’t be able to get their new number plates by the deadline.
The Local News Updates indicate that this situation has become one of the most pressing issues for Pune’s transportation department.
