The Horizons at Wakad Society in Pune has taken a big step towards going green by setting up a large 125 kWp solar power system on their building’s roof. They’ve used high-quality solar panels made by Premier Energies and special equipment called SolarEdge inverters to make this happen.

To keep the solar system safe and working well, the society has taken many safety steps. They’ve added strong steel wires to make everything secure and put up lightning protection devices. They’ve also installed CCTV cameras that work day and night to keep an eye on the whole system.

This solar system helps power many important things in the society, like the sewage treatment plant, waste converter, and charging points for electric cars. The best part is that it helps the society save a lot of money – about 3 lakh rupees every month! This shows that using solar power isn’t just good for the environment but also helps save money.

The project became successful because of the hard work of many people in the society. Mr. Sandip Yeole, who lives in the society and knows a lot about solar power, led the project. Other important members like Amit Singh, Pramod Patel, and Nagendra Singh also helped make this project happen.

This solar power system is a big achievement for the society. It shows that they really care about using clean energy and protecting the environment. The society wants to become self-dependent in energy use, which means they want to make their own electricity instead of depending completely on the regular power supply.

The Horizons at Wakad Society has shown other housing societies in Pune how to use solar power in a smart way. They’ve proved that if people work together, they can make their buildings more eco-friendly and save money at the same time. This is a good example for other societies who want to start using solar power.

This initiative aligns with Pune’s education sector by serving as a practical learning model for engineering students studying renewable energy systems.
