Maharashtra Government Making All Services Available Online
The Maharashtra government has announced a big change in how people will get government services. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered that by August 15, 2025, all 900 government services must be available online. If any government department fails to make their services online by this date, they’ll have to pay a fine of ₹1,000 per day for each service.
Right now, 583 services are already online, which means people can use them through their phones or computers. The government will add 306 more services to make everything digital. This will make it much easier for people to get work done without going to government offices.
The government is using new technology to make things simpler. For example, at Mantralaya (the main government office), they’re using face scanning to check people’s identity. This means people don’t need to carry many documents for identification.
The Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act is helping make these changes possible. The government is also teaching school students about this Act so that young children understand their rights to get good government services. This will help them when they grow up.
To make sure departments follow the rules, the government has set clear dates for when services should go online. If departments don’t follow these dates, they’ll have to pay fines. This will make them work faster to make services available on the internet.
These changes will help everyone in Maharashtra. People won’t need to stand in long lines or visit government offices again and again. They can get their work done from home or nearby computer centers. This is a big step to make Maharashtra more modern and make life easier for its people.
As Pune’s business community adapts to these digital transformations, local enterprises are expected to benefit from streamlined government interactions.
