Traffic Rules Broken: Drivers Go Backwards on Pune Flyover
Many car and bike drivers created a big problem on Pune’s Sinhagad Road flyover on May 6, 2025. During heavy traffic near Vitthalwadi Kaman, they started taking wrong turns and driving backwards. This was very dangerous and against traffic rules, making the jam even worse and raising the chance of accidents.
The main problem was that there weren’t enough traffic police officers on the flyover to stop people from breaking rules. When some drivers started going in reverse, others followed them, thinking it was okay to do so. This made the situation more dangerous for everyone on the road.
The backwards driving caused a lot of confusion for other people who were driving properly on the flyover. Cars coming from the other side didn’t know what to do when they saw vehicles moving in the wrong direction. This could have caused serious accidents if anyone wasn’t careful.
People who live near the flyover and those who use this road daily have complained many times about traffic problems in this area. They want the city officials to find good solutions to stop such traffic jams. After this incident, city officers are thinking about putting more traffic police and better cameras to watch the road.
The incident shows that Pune city needs better planning for its growing number of vehicles. As more people buy cars and bikes, the roads are becoming more crowded. The city needs to improve its roads and find ways to manage traffic better so that people don’t break rules when stuck in jams.
After seeing what happened, the city officials are now planning to make stricter rules and give bigger punishments to those who break traffic rules. They want to make sure that people follow traffic rules properly and drive safely on the roads. They’re also planning to teach people why it’s important to follow traffic rules, even when there’s heavy traffic.
The incident has been added to Pune’s latest news collection to raise awareness about traffic safety in the city.
