Elderly Women Targeted in Pune Gold Chain Snatching Incidents

In Pune, there have been two sad incidents where elderly women were robbed of their gold chains. These events have made people worried about the safety of older residents. Both incidents happened in April, just a few days apart, and have led to more police patrols and community watch efforts.

The first incident took place on April 7. An 80-year-old woman named Saraswati was outside a bank when two men on a motorcycle stole her gold chain worth around ₹20,000. The police have registered a case and are working hard to find the thieves.

A similar thing happened on April 12 to an 82-year-old woman named Vithabai near a temple. While she was waiting in line, someone took her gold chain that was worth ₹30,000. The police are also investigating this case and trying to catch the criminals.

In response to these robberies, the police have increased their presence in areas where older people visit often, like banks and temples. They’re also using more cameras to keep an eye on these places so that such crimes don’t happen again.

The community is also becoming more alert and is asking for better safety measures, like installing more CCTV cameras and starting neighborhood watch programs to help protect elderly people.

These incidents show how important it’s to have good safety plans for older citizens. The total value of the stolen chains is ₹50,000, which is a big loss and raises concerns about the safety of elderly people in Pune.

Local authorities have made tracking Pune crime news a priority to better understand and prevent such incidents in the future.
