HBI Supports Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital Amid Allegations

Health Bridge International (HBI) is helping Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune, Maharashtra, by giving $2.3 million for medical equipment and support. This hospital has 1,000 beds and helps many patients each year. The money will be used to buy special machines and tools that will help doctors treat patients better.

There were some problems in the past when some former hospital leaders were accused of taking money wrongly. However, HBI checked everything and found that the hospital really needs this support. In March 2023, it was claimed that $175,000 from previous donations was misused, but investigations showed there was no wrongdoing. HBI believes in the current leaders of the hospital.

The hospital also runs important health programs for the community. They’ve done well in giving vaccinations to 89% of the people they aimed to help. Over 200,000 people in nearby areas have received preventive healthcare services. This has made the hospital a trusted place for healthcare, especially for those who need it most.

HBI’s support won’t only provide equipment but also train hospital staff and improve the hospital’s facilities. They’ll also make sure that the money is used properly by regularly checking how it’s spent.

With HBI’s help, the hospital expects to treat more complex medical cases and reduce waiting times for surgeries by 40% in the first year. This partnership is a big step for better healthcare in Maharashtra and will help many people.
