The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has given an important warning about a heatwave in Pune. They say that the temperatures will rise by 3°C to 4°C more than usual, and it may go over 40°C in the next few days.

Because of this heat, it’s very important to stay safe. Doctors suggest that everyone should drink at least 3 to 4 liters of water every day. This helps keep our bodies cool. Special care is needed for older people, young children, and those who are already sick. They should stay indoors, especially between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM when the sun is the strongest.

The weather is changing in Pune. There are easterly winds making the air feel more humid. This means it may feel hotter than what the thermometer shows. Even though some areas might get light rain, it won’t help much to cool things down.

The IMD also says that this heatwave may last for a while, and the temperatures mightn’t go down soon. Weather stations are keeping a close watch on the temperatures in Pune and nearby areas.

To help everyone cope with the heat, the city has set up cooling centers where people can go to be in a cooler place. It’s good to find the nearest cooling center and know the signs of heat illness, like feeling dizzy or having a fast heartbeat.

Lastly, you can make your home cooler by using reflective window covers and keeping the air flowing. Emergency services are also ready to help anyone who feels very sick from the heat. Stay safe and cool!
