Pune is on high security alert because of threats detected by intelligence agencies. The police have increased security at 47 important places in the city. These places include government buildings, transport centers, and places of worship.

To keep everyone safe, more police officers are patrolling the streets, and special rapid action teams are ready to help if needed. There are also new cameras installed to watch key areas.

This alert was raised after some violent events in Nagpur. There were riots that damaged public property and hurt 17 people. Police believe that false information on social media made the situation worse. To help with this, a special team is monitoring social media 24 hours a day.

Most of the sensitive locations, about 78%, are near the city center, and 42% of these are religious places. To strengthen security, 1,200 extra police officers have been deployed, including 300 who'll work undercover.

The police have set up 15 quick response teams and 8 mobile command centers. These teams can reach any place in just 7 minutes if there's an emergency.

Schools, shopping centers, and transport services have been told to check security every hour and keep track of visitors. Local shops and neighborhoods must keep detailed records of visitors, and so far, 89% of them are following this rule.

There are also new smart cameras at 12 busy intersections to spot any suspicious activity. The administration has created a central command center that people can call for help. This center receives about 127 calls each day.

All 18 police stations in Pune are working together for quick support, and help can arrive from nearby areas within 30 minutes if needed.
