Police Find Illegal Hookah in Pune Café
The Wanawadi Police caught four people running an illegal hookah service at The Spicy Floor Café and Cloud Kitchen in Pune. The police raid happened on May 10, 2025, on Salunkhe Vihar Road. During their regular checking, police got information about this illegal business and quickly took action.
The police team found and took away hookah pipes and special tobacco worth Rs. 3,215 from the café. They arrested four people: Narayan Magar Thapa, Chandankumar Shrivan Rai, Inayat Majid Salla, and Javed Malik Sheikh. These people were giving hookah to customers without permission, which is against the law.
Police Sub-Inspector Dhanaji Tone led the raid, and Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil was in charge of the whole operation. They made sure everything was done properly and followed all rules. Some people were also present as witnesses to watch the raid.
The police filed a case at Wanawadi Police Station with the number 198/2025. They used special laws called Sections 4(a) and 21(a) of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act of Maharashtra, 2018. These laws say that selling hookah without permission is wrong.
This raid shows how Pune Police is working hard to stop illegal hookah places in the city. They want to make sure that all cafés and restaurants follow the rules properly. The police keep a close watch on such places to protect people’s health and safety.
The police have kept all the hookah items they found as proof for the court case. This action by the police will make other people think twice before starting illegal hookah services. The police want everyone to know that breaking tobacco-related laws will get them in trouble.
