Pune is facing a big problem with the new High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP). There are about 26,33,635 vehicles that need to get these plates by April 30. Right now, only about 1,000 vehicles are getting their plates each day. If this continues, it could take a very long time—up to 72 years! This is making many people worried about whether they can meet the deadline.

As of March 11, only 34,356 vehicles have received their HSRP plates. Meanwhile, 67,586 vehicles are still waiting because of delays. The government tried to help by increasing the number of places where people can get their plates from 69 to 126. However, many of these places aren't open, making it hard for vehicle owners to get their plates.

Experts are saying that the government needs to act quickly. They suggest making the process faster, keeping the installation centers open longer, and adding more places to get plates. This could help people avoid fines for not having their plates after April 30.

With less than two months left, only 2% of eligible vehicles have their HSRP plates. This means that many vehicle owners mightn't be able to get their plates on time. To finish the work by the deadline, the centers need to handle about 52,673 vehicles each day, which is much more than what they're doing now.

This situation shows that there's a big need for changes and more resources. If things don't improve, many people in Pune might struggle to follow the new rules by the deadline.
