A man named Jagdish Mahadev Telshinge lived in Pimpri-Chinchwad. He went away from his home between February 19 and April 9, 2025. While he was gone, his cousin, Gangadhar Raosaheb Telshinge, who’s 38 years old, stole gold ornaments worth 16 lakh rupees. He used a spare key that Jagdish had given him to get inside the house.
This act was a big betrayal of trust because Gangadhar took advantage of being trusted by his family. He stole around 31 tolas, which is about 360 grams, of gold. When Jagdish came back home after his trip, he found that his gold was missing. There were no signs of forced entry, which meant that the thief knew the house very well.
When Jagdish told the police, they acted quickly. They focused on people who’d keys to the house. Within 24 hours, the police found most of the stolen items, including 29 tolas of gold and 16 tolas of silver, worth about ₹16,92,300.
During questioning, Gangadhar admitted that he was the one who stole the gold. This showed that he’d misused his trust within the family. The case shows how important it’s to be careful about who’s access to our homes, even if it’s family.
The MIDC Bhosari Police are continuing to investigate this case. They want to know if anyone else helped Gangadhar or if he tried to sell the stolen items. The fast recovery of the stolen goods shows how effective the police can be in solving such crimes.
This incident teaches us a lesson about being careful with who we trust with our homes. Although most of the stolen items were found, it reminds us of the challenges of keeping our homes safe while trusting our family members.
The police are still gathering evidence to make sure that justice is served correctly.
