Muzaffarpur-Pune Special Train Shifted to Hadapsar to Ease Congestion

The Muzaffarpur-Pune Special Train will now stop at Hadapsar station instead of Pune Junction starting December 15, 2023. Hadapsar station is just 12 kilometers away from main Pune city. This change is being made because Pune Junction is getting too crowded with around 37,000 people using it every day.

This new plan will help reduce the crowd at Pune Junction by 14.3% during busy hours. In the last two years, the number of passengers at Pune Junction has gone up by 22%, making it difficult for everyone to travel comfortably. The change will make train journeys easier and faster for all passengers.

To make things better for passengers, Hadapsar station has been given a complete makeover. The parking space has been made bigger and can now fit 350 vehicles instead of just 120. They’ve also added 12 new ticket windows and put up new screens to show train timings. All this work cost Rs. 28.5 crore and has made the station better for everyone, including people who use wheelchairs.

The Railways has started special buses between Hadapsar station and Pune Junction. These buses will run every 30 minutes from early morning 5:00 AM until night 11:00 PM. This will help passengers who need to go from one station to another. The buses will connect with other city buses and auto-rickshaws too.

The train’s timing will stay almost the same. It will now reach Hadapsar at 10:42 AM and leave at 3:15 PM. The only change is that it will take 12 minutes more because of the extra distance to Hadapsar. About 1,850 people who travel on this train will now use the new Hadapsar station.

To help passengers understand this change, Railways is sending messages on phones, making announcements at stations, and posting information on social media. They’ve also put up digital screens at both stations that will show which platform the train will come on, when it will arrive, and other important details. This will help passengers find their way easily at the new station.

The shift to Hadapsar is part of Pune’s broader effort to modernize its transportation landscape with improved infrastructure and facilities.
