On March 31, 2025, the Wanawadi Police in Pune seized 450 liters of illegal country-made liquor. This happened during a special operation at Gosavi Vasti, near Suraksha Nagar Police Chowki. The police arrested a man named Somnath Kamble, who lives in Hadapsar. The police wanted to stop illegal liquor making in the area.

The operation was led by Senior Police Inspector Satyajit Adamane, who worked with Crime Inspector Govind Jadhav and other police officers. They used their skills to find and take away 12 cans of illegal liquor worth about ₹45,000. This operation showed that the police are paying close attention to places where illegal liquor is made and sold.

The timing of this operation was important because it was during Ramzan Eid, a time when more people try to sell illegal liquor. By taking this liquor, the police stopped it from reaching many people in the community.

The police say this operation is part of their plan to fight against illegal liquor making in Pune. The arrest of Somnath Kamble is a big step in stopping these illegal activities. Investigators think he might be connected to larger networks that distribute illegal liquor.

The Wanawadi Police are still watching for other suspicious activities. They know that illegal liquor making often increases during festivals. This seizure is one of the biggest this year, showing that the fight against illegal alcohol is ongoing.

Police have asked everyone to report any suspicious activities related to illegal liquor. They want to keep people safe from the dangers of drinking unregulated alcohol. The police promise to keep working hard to make sure everyone follows the rules about liquor.
