The PMC is having its annual vehicle auction on March 15th, 2024, at the Central Municipal Grounds. This year, there will be 157 old government vehicles for sale. These include 89 cars, 42 light trucks, 18 utility vans, and 8 special maintenance vehicles, all made between 2008 and 2016.

There will be a mix of in-person and online bidding to make it easier for everyone to join in. This year's auction is expected to make around $2.7 million. This is a big increase from last year when the auction made $1.89 million. The rise in money is thanks to new online bidding tools and better marketing to attract both collectors and businesses from nearby states.

Past auctions show that people really like the newer cars, which can sell for 27% more than usual prices. Most of the vehicles are expected to sell quickly, with 76% of them going within the first four hours, especially between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

Before the auction, you can check the vehicles during three viewing days from March 12-14, 2024. You'll also be able to see important information about each vehicle online, like their history and condition, to help you decide before you bid.

The auction will help save money for the city too, with an expected savings of $180,000. Selling old vehicles will lower maintenance costs and help the city work better with newer vehicles.

You can register for the auction starting February 15th, 2024. Make sure to bring the right ID and proof of money at least 72 hours before the auction.

The PMC has teamed up with six banks to help with financing, so you'll have plenty of options to buy the vehicles you want.
