PMC Serves Notice to Suzlon Over Alleged Unlicensed Eatery at Amanora

PMC Takes Action Against Suzlon for Running Food Shop Without Permission

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has sent a notice to Suzlon Group on Tuesday about a restaurant running without proper permission in their Amanora Township building. This is the third time PMC has taken action against such food shops in this area in the last three months.

PMC officials found that the restaurant was running without important health and safety certificates for more than two months. This is against the city’s rules, and both Suzlon and the people running the restaurant could face big fines. The notice was sent to Suzlon’s main office asking them to explain why they allowed this.

A study by PMC shows that almost half of the food shops in Amanora area have faced similar problems in the last year and a half. They found 12 shops running without proper papers, which is more than last year. This is causing problems for shops that follow all rules, as their business has gone down because of these illegal shops.

The latest news updates from Pune indicate similar violations are becoming increasingly common across the city.

Suzlon has been given 15 days to fix all these problems. They need to submit all important papers and get their shop checked by health officers. If they don’t do this, they’ll have to pay a fine of ₹50,000 for each day they continue running the shop without permission. This rule is written in the city’s Food Safety Act.

The PMC inspection also found that the restaurant wasn’t following proper rules for keeping food clean and safe. They didn’t have proper ways to throw garbage, and their workers didn’t have health certificates. Almost all their kitchen work wasn’t up to the standards that PMC wants food shops to follow.

To make things better, PMC will now check all food shops in Amanora area every two weeks. They’ll also teach shop owners about the rules they need to follow. PMC wants all food shops to follow all rules by the end of this year, especially those that are in big office buildings and townships.
