A 26-year-old hotel owner, Shubham Subhash Chavan, was killed in Pune’s Santoshnagar area early Sunday morning. The sad incident happened between 1:00 AM and 3:45 AM because of a fight over a small piece of land near his house.
The fight was about 2-3 guntha of land (a small land measurement unit). The killer attacked Chavan with different things like a stone, bamboo stick, and a wooden stump. He hit Chavan badly on his head and other parts of his body.
When police found Chavan, he was lying in blood. They quickly took him to the nearest hospital, but the doctors said he was already dead when he reached there. The attack happened in a quiet area where not many people could see what happened.
Police say the main person behind this killing is Amar Sakore. He’s been in trouble with the law before. In 2010, he was involved in another fight case about the same piece of land. This shows that the land problem has been going on for many years.
The Ambegaon police have filed a case against Sakore and are trying hard to catch him. They’ve sent five special teams to different places to find him. The weapons used in the attack were simple things that anyone can find easily.
This sad event shows how dangerous property fights can become in cities where land prices are going up fast. Police are still looking for more clues and talking to people who might’ve seen something that night. They’ve asked local people to tell them if they know anything that can help catch Sakore.
The incident has sparked concerns about safety in Pune’s Katraj area, where similar property-related disputes have been reported recently.
