MahaMetro has started the process of choosing design advisors for the Pune Metro Phase 2 project. This project includes two main routes. One route is 25.51 kilometers long and goes from Kharadi to Swargate, then to Hadapsar and Khadakwasla, with 22 stations in total. The other route is shorter, at 6.12 kilometers, connecting Nal Stop to Warje-Manik Baug, and it will have 6 stations.
The goal is to design the metro stations in a way that fits well with the local area and meets the needs of modern city travel. MahaMetro is working closely with Pune Municipal Corporation and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority to make sure the planning is good and meets the changing travel needs of the city. The design advisors will help create plans that are up-to-date and efficient.
The new stations will have many facilities for passengers. They'll be spacious, fully air-conditioned, and have advanced electrical systems, including solar energy. Each station will also have important amenities like restrooms, places to eat, and shops. This means the stations will be useful not just for travel, but for other activities too.
The tender also highlights the need for eco-friendly designs and the use of new technology. This ensures that Pune Metro's Phase 2 will be ready to serve future travel demands. MahaMetro wants to build a transit system that sets a good example for public transport in India.
The design advisors will be very important in creating stations that look good and work well. They'll also make sure the new designs are similar to the current metro stations. This expansion is a big step toward improving public transport in Pune, focusing on making travel comfortable and efficient for everyone.
