In Pune, a young man named Tejas Bajirao Sonagare, who was just 20 years old, sadly took his own life on February 12, 2025. He worked as an office boy and jumped from the sixth floor of his workplace. Tejas faced a lot of pressure from his cousins about his money and savings, which made him very upset.

Before he died, Tejas made a video on Instagram explaining how his cousins were bothering him. He wanted his friends to share it widely. In the video, he talked about how much stress he felt because of the constant questions about his earnings. This video helped the police understand what happened to him.

After looking into the case, the police arrested two of Tejas’s cousins on April 4, 2025. They were charged with harassment because their actions made Tejas feel very sad and hopeless before his death.

The investigation showed that the cousins frequently pushed Tejas about his finances, which affected his mental health. This harsh treatment contributed to his emotional struggle that led to his tragic choice.

Tejas’s story has made many people in the community think about how families can sometimes cause harm instead of support. Experts say it’s important to recognize when family members hurt each other, and that no one should be protected from facing consequences for their actions.

This sad event has encouraged local leaders to improve support for young people who face similar pressures. Mental health professionals are also calling for more awareness about the impact of financial stress in families, especially for young workers like Tejas.
