The Purandar Airport project near Pune has started moving forward again after many delays. The Pune district collector has asked the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to provide money to help measure the land needed for the airport. This decision comes after an important meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who wants to speed up the project and make things easier for everyone involved.
To build the airport, the government needs to acquire 2,753 hectares of land. This includes 79 hectares that belong to the government and 2,673 hectares that belong to private owners. The Maharashtra government has created a fair compensation plan to help landowners willingly give up their land. This shows that the government cares about the people who own the land and wants to keep the project moving forward.
The land measurement work will start in seven villages in Purandar tehsil. Officials believe it will take about ten days to finish this work once MIDC gives them the funds. Measuring the land is an important first step in the project. It will help define the exact areas and who owns them.
Recently, the project area has increased to 2,823 hectares because the state forest department will also provide an additional 70 hectares of land. This shows that the authorities are planning carefully to ensure there's enough space for the airport and future growth.
The land measurement is expected to begin in early April. This is an important step in making the airport a reality. The district administration is working hard to connect with different government departments and people to speed up the project.
This progress is a big achievement for the Purandar Airport project. Once the land measurements are done, the next steps in building the airport can begin. The Maharashtra government is dedicated to improving travel and boosting the area's economy through this project, while also being mindful of the landowners' needs.
