unlawful military retiree appointment

A female retired Army officer, Major Syeda Firasat Tunnisa Begum, was found to be wrongly appointed as District Sainik Kalyan Officer in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. An RTI activist discovered this after looking into her appointment details.

The main problem was that Begum didn’t submit a proper non-creamy layer (NCL) certificate, which is very important for getting a job under reservation. The Deputy Director in Pune, who helped her get the job, is also in trouble for taking money from her.

It was found that Begum’s family income was more than Rs 8 lakh per year, which means she couldn’t get a job under reservation. She also submitted a wrong NCL certificate that had 19 numbers instead of the correct 18 numbers.

When the RTI activist tried to complain about this wrong appointment, some people tried to stop him. But he didn’t give up and kept fighting to show how rules were broken in giving this job.

The Ex-servicemen Welfare Department didn’t take any action even after getting many complaints about this wrong appointment. This shows that the department wasn’t doing its job properly.

Now, people want the government to check all papers submitted by Begum and find out who else helped her get the job wrongly. They also want the government to take back the job and get back all the money paid to her as salary. This case shows why we need to be more careful while giving government jobs.

The case has sparked significant debate in Pune politics about corruption in government appointments.
