RPF Pune Returns Lost Passenger Bag Worth ₹3.74 Lakh Under Operation Amanat

On April 12, 2025, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Pune did something really amazing. They helped a passenger named Babita Mahadev Sonawane by finding her lost bag. This was part of their special program called “Operation Amanat.” The bag had very valuable things inside, worth ₹3,74,500, including gold jewelry, cash, and important items.

Babita accidentally left her bag near the AC coach of Train No. 18520. As soon as the RPF officers found the bag, they quickly took action to return it. This shows how much they care about keeping passengers’ things safe.

When the officers opened the bag, they found a 10-gram gold bangle worth ₹70,000, three pairs of gold earrings worth ₹49,000, and cash of ₹1,36,500. The bag also had dry fruits, clothes, and medicines, which are very important to Babita.

To make sure everything was correct, the officers checked the bag carefully. They spoke with Mr. Dattatraya Mahadev Sonawane, who’s Babita’s representative, to confirm that the items were indeed hers. They made sure everything matched before giving the bag back.

The way RPF Pune handled this situation shows they’re very good at finding lost things. They wrote down everything in their daily logbook as part of Operation Amanat. This helps them keep track of all the lost items they recover.

This incident shows how important RPF is for keeping passengers safe and their belongings secure. Thanks to their hard work, Babita got her bag back, and this makes people trust the railway system even more.
