Sinhagad Road Flyover Inauguration by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on May 1

The new Sinhagad Road Flyover in Pune city was opened on Tuesday by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This big bridge is 1.6 kilometers long and cost Rs. 149 crore to build. It will help more than 75,000 people who travel on this road every day to reach their destinations faster.

The flyover has many new features like smart traffic signals, special sensors, and cameras to watch traffic. People who use this road will save about 27 minutes of travel time during busy hours. This will be very helpful for people living in nearby areas like Pune Cantonment, Hingne Khurd, and Anand Nagar.

The new flyover can handle about 3,200 vehicles every hour, which is much more than before. It has six lanes for vehicles to move, special lanes for emergencies, bright LED lights, and a good system to remove rainwater. The workers spent 847,000 hours building this flyover using lots of steel and cement.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) worked very hard with many other government offices to build this flyover. They took special care of the environment by moving 1,200 trees to new places instead of cutting them down. They also built five underground paths for people to cross the road safely and made separate roads on the sides.

People who use this road regularly will save a lot of money on petrol and vehicle repairs – about Rs. 27.5 crore every year. The flyover is built so strong that it will last for 100 years, and it can be made bigger if needed in the future.

During the opening ceremony, the government also announced new plans like building parking spaces, putting up 24 traffic cameras, and making a special system to help during emergencies. All these things will make the flyover work better and help make Pune a smarter city.

The Pune business community expects this infrastructure development to boost commercial activities along the Sinhagad Road corridor.
