The Sinhagad Road flyover project, which many people were excited about, will take longer to finish than planned. The first part of the flyover is now set to open in April 2025, while the second part will open in June 2025. This is much later than the original plan, which was supposed to be done by March or April 2025. The builders faced some problems that made them rethink the timing of the project, which affects how traffic will move around the area.
This flyover is 2.2 kilometers long and will help cars move better along Sinhagad Road. Once it's finished, it will remove more than six busy crossings, making travel easier for everyone. Right now, the traffic rules aren't enough to handle the jams caused by the construction, and this is making local people very frustrated as they try to get around.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) understands that people are upset about the delays. They're working hard to speed up the remaining work. Although they haven't set a specific opening date yet, they're talking to the workers to make sure everything goes smoothly and doesn't take even longer.
The delays affect not just drivers but also businesses and schools near the construction site. Because of the extra time needed for the flyover, there will still be temporary detours and new routes, which are becoming harder to manage as work continues.
The new schedule includes more safety features and stronger structures that weren't included in the first plan. The PMC believes it's better to take more time now to make sure the flyover is safe and strong for everyone.
Once completed, this flyover will be an important part of Pune's roads, helping people travel faster and connect better across the city. Even though the delays are a problem, the focus is on building a good structure that will help with transportation for many years.
