Soaring Heat in Pune: Lohgaon Hits 42.5°C, Humidity Adds Discomfort

Pune is facing very hot weather these days. In Lohgaon area, the temperature has reached 42.5°C, which is 4.5°C more than normal. Shivajinagar area is also very hot at 39.4°C, which is 1.4°C above normal. This big difference in temperature shows how buildings and roads make cities hotter.

Lohgaon is extra hot because it has rocky ground and very few trees. But the western part of Pune, which has many trees and is near hills, is a bit cooler. In Lavale area, the air has become very humid, making people feel even more uncomfortable.

Even at night, the weather isn’t good. Lohgaon’s temperature stays at 25.3°C, and Koregaon Park at 25.2°C. This means people can’t get proper rest at night because it’s too hot. This is very bad for old people and sick people.

The city officers have started taking steps to help people deal with the heat. They’re telling everyone to drink lots of water and stay inside during the hottest times of the day. They’re worried people might get sick from the heat.

Some areas in Pune are hotter than others because they don’t have enough trees. Places with more trees are cooler. This shows why we need more parks and trees in our cities.

The weather department says this hot weather will continue for some time. They want everyone to be careful and follow safety rules. They say we should avoid going out between 12 pm and 4 pm when the sun is very strong.

The city’s transportation systems are being affected as commuters struggle to cope with the extreme temperatures while waiting at bus stops and railway stations.
