Content Warning: This story talks about an important but sensitive issue. I'll share the main facts without being too detailed.

A senior worker at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) was caught doing something very wrong in his office yesterday at 2:15 PM. Many students saw it and told others, which made everyone very worried about safety at school. The incident happened in the west wing of the Administrative Building. Security and police came quickly to handle the situation.

After the worker was arrested, around 478 students came to the university's main gate to ask for better rules for how staff should behave and more safety measures on campus. The students, mostly undergraduates, protested peacefully for six hours and shared their demands with the university leaders.

The University's Executive Council had a quick meeting at 7:30 PM. They decided to suspend the worker until an investigation is done. They also set up a group of seven people, including three female professors and two student representatives, to check safety rules and suggest improvements in 14 days.

Data from the university shows that this is the third case of inappropriate behavior by workers in the last 18 months, which is a big increase. The university plans to start monthly training for all administrative staff and put in more security cameras around campus.

Police have charged the worker with breaking the law, and he's still in jail. The university is providing counseling for students who feel affected by this incident.

The SPPU Student Union will check safety on campus every two weeks with help from teachers. The university also plans to create a new online system for students to report problems anonymously starting next month.
